For example, here is Scylla's 2016 calf, flipper-slapping, then rolling over and diving. You might notice that this whale has lost its dorsal fin. What you cannot see are the severe propeller scars on it's right side. This resilient whale was hit by a vessel a few years ago and survived and is doing OK.  We've seen this whale in 2018 and it was not injured, but saw it again in 2021 and in 2022.
